Leading Effective Online Discussions

Schedule: Wednesday, January 06, 2021, 03:00 PM – 04:30 PM
Location: Virtual classroom

As we have shifted to a world of online learning, effective discussions are essential to achieving learning outcomes. However, facilitating student engagement when not connected by a physical classroom can have its challenges. In this active-learning workshop, we will learn and apply strategies to develop a safe and inclusive environment to promote discursive dialogue. We will discuss how to manage dynamics to ensure a socially just learning atmosphere. Finally, we will explore and apply alternative methods, such as using chat and breakout rooms, to promote participation.
After registration, you will be emailed the link to the virtual classroom.
