Joan Craig is a sessional instructor and PhD student in the University of Windsor’s Department of Psychology. She spent the past three years as graduate assistant for a fourth-year honours thesis class, in which she instructed students who are completing their first independent research projects. Her personal research interests cover a wide variety of topics, and often involve working on multiple research projects simultaneously. In addition, she has maintained a high level of involvement in other activities, such as service work, union involvement, and personal development through workshops, conferences, and extra coursework (over and above program requirements). These combined experiences have contributed to a knowledge base of time management, research skills, and techniques that promote success in graduate programs.
