Hio Tong Kuan
Hio Tong Kuan is a doctoral student in the Department of Psychology and an international student at the University of Windsor. She has experiences working in both graduate and research assistant positions throughout her academic training (e.g., lab instructor, graduate teaching assistant, and senior research assistant). Her research interest covers a range of topics as she is building a research program that stems from her diverse experiences. For instance, she studies women’s health in intimate relationships and international students’ experiences of campus safety while studying abroad. She has been involved with multiple projects with different departments and research groups, while completing course requirements and attending conferences and workshops. Her various GA/TA experiences at the University of Windsor has not only enriched her study experiences as an international student but also helped her to develop additional skill sets to increase her competency working on her graduate degree.
