Register for CTL workshops, events, courses and programs

Welcome! Please log in.
The Facilitator's Development Workshop (FDW) helps develop skills in facilitating workshops, and in particular prepares people to lead their own Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW). This 5 day opportunity is by invitation to those who have completed an ISW. Very few university-level FDWs are offered each year, and this spring we are pleased to host here at the University of Windsor.

Facilitator Development Workshop (FDW)

Registration for this event is now closed.

Who should attend?
The Facilitator Development Workshop (FDW) is designed for individuals who have already completed an Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) and wish to facilitate ISWs for colleagues at their institutions. The FDW provides individuals with an opportunity for educational development in a challenging and supportive atmosphere, provides connections to a larger instructional development network, and enables skilled and knowledgeable teachers to aid in the educational development of their peers.

What will you learn?
ISW activities form the nucleus of the FDW – refinement of teaching techniques through micro-teaching and feedback sessions, combined with the development of strategies for facilitating effective, supportive, trusting groups. The FDW uses a peer-based small-group model in which participants practice facilitation skills with guidance from FDW trainers.

Who are the trainers?
Facilitators from the ISW Network will serve as members of the training team. The number of small groups will depend on the number of registrants and the availability of trainers.

Fee: $847.50 (includes 13% HST)
($150 for University of Windsor participants, through Centre for Teaching and Learning Subsidy.)
Payment is due upon receipt of confirmation that space is available. There is a $50.00 cancellation fee.

Note: Early registration is recommended, as limited spots are available. Additional information will be sent to participants prior to the event. View the University of Windsor campus map.
