Dave Owen
Dave Owen earned an M.A. in English and T.E.S.L. certification at the University of Western Ontario. After spending eight years in the private sector, he returned to his original area of interest - teaching. Since 2001, Dave has been a Writing Consultant in the Academic Writing Centre. During this time, he has taught ESL in the English Language Improvement Program (ELIP) and Technical Writing for 1st Year Engineering (85-118). Dave has also conducted in-class presentations for faculty, facilitated small group workshops and tutorials for students, and completed numerous Student Writing Assessment/Work Plans. He believes that all university students, given sufficient guidance and motivation, can become competent, autonomous writers.
